Games Night at the Bristol Improv Theatre: Wednesday 10th May 2023
Bring your friends to games night; a social evening of classic and new games! Your team will solve riveting riddles, giggle at guessing games, act out murder mystery charades and play together against others. Let your competitive side run wild! The Red Dress at Tyntesfield: 1st – 31st May 2023
The Red Dress project features one dress that has been embroidered on to by people around the world over the course of 13 years, many of whom are vulnerable and live in poverty. The Red Dress will be on show in the Drawing Room of Tyntesfield House. Entry to the exhibit is free and no booking is required. Normal admission applies. There are also talks available to book, where you can hear the story of the Red Dress from artist Kirstie Macleod, and join a family craft session. To find out more about these events, click here.
Love Saves the Day: 27th – 28th May 2023
Bristol-born festival Love Saves the Day returns to Ashton Court this month, boasting an eclectic programme perfect for the ultimate bank holiday weekend. LSTD will celebrate electronic and alternative culture, cementing its place as a bubbling hub of independent spirit and celebratory release. Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year at The Royal Photographic Society: 20th May – 10th June 2023
This summer, Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year, the world’s leading awards for food photography and film, is premiering its twelfth exhibition at The Royal Photographic Society, one of the oldest photographic societies in the world. With over 170 images from more than 25 categories, ranging from the Politics of Food to Marks & Spencer Food Portraiture, the exhibition captures the great sweep of stories and cultures in the world of food. Disney's The Lion King at Bristol Hippodrome
The beloved Disney show makes a triumphant return, having already played two sell out seasons at the Bristol Hippodrome. The cast of over 50 actors, singers and dancers are thrilled to return to the Hippodrome stage for this strictly limited run which is set to excite new and returning audiences alike. The story of The Lion King roars into life using spectacular masks, puppets, and costumes to tell the story of Simba's epic adventures, as he struggles with the responsibilities of adulthood and becoming King. Weekends of Wonder! In Broadmead: Weekends in May and June 2023
Bristol’s Broadmead will come to life with an outdoor street performance festival spanning four weekends this May and June. Weekends of Wonder! is a street theatre festival with WOW! factor, bringing local and international artists together to light up the town with bedazzling acts to amaze audiences of all ages. WOW! will bring together veteran street performers alongside cutting edge new talent to create a truly magical atmosphere on our city’s central high street. To find out more, click here.
Foodies Festival
The UK’s biggest touring gourmet food and music festival series – returns to Bristol in a new venue. Featuring a star-studded line-up of celebrity chefs and chart-topping music stars, including Scouting For Girls and Blue. Known as Gastro-Glastonbury, the three-day event features live cooking demonstrations from top chefs drawn from the ranks of TV’s MasterChef, Great British Bake Off and Great British Menu, plus top-rated Michelin-starred and award-winning chefs. The Cave Art of Lascaux at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery: 1st April – 10th September 2023
Step back in time 21,000 years and visit the incredible Stone Age cave art of Lascaux in immersive 3D. This world heritage site in the Dordogne, France, was discovered in 1940 by two teenagers. It features etched and painted images large and small, of many animals as well as mysterious symbols and elements. The site itself has been closed to the public since 1963, but there is a full size replica of the cave complex in France. Now, using the latest technology, you can ‘visit’ the caves on your own doorstep. Find out more about this exhibition and buy tickets here.
Bristol Walk Fest: 1st – 31st May 2023
Bristol Walk Fest is one of the biggest urban walking events in the UK! It’s a month-long festival that takes place every year to coincide with National Walking Month. Walk Fest offers a wide array of events and activities for all ages and abilities. Choices include heritage tours, nature walks, explorations of street art and statues, wild food forays and much more.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year at MShed: 19th November 2022—29th May 2023
Wildlife Photographer of the Year is back at M Shed with a brand new set of images capturing the breath-taking diversity of the natural world. Sensing Nature Guided Walks at Westonbirt Arboretum: 14th April – 22nd September 2023
Let Westonbirt's visually impaired guides lead you through an immersive and interactive sensory experience that aims to shift your perception, enjoy the arboretum at a slower pace and explore the trees of Westonbirt through your nonvisual senses. Art of The Maker - Garry Fabian Miller: Adore at Arnolfini: 19th April – 13th May 2023
An opportunity to learn more about Garry Fabian Miller's work and his exhibition, Adore, at Arnolfini. Including time to ask questions. Chaired by Arnolfini's Executive Director Gary Topp. The Art of the Maker series is a collaboration between Arnolfini and The School of Art & Design and Centre for Fine Print Research at UWE Bristol.
