How to Decorate your Room
Just because you're only staying somewhere for a short period doesn't mean you can't make it feel like home. We like to think of ourselves as experts in short-term living here at Clifton Short Lets - and we've put together a guide to the best ways to make your short-term let feel like a home - without breaking the bank!
Brighten your living space
Add some colour and personality with some bright or patterned fabrics. For living areas, this can be done with a couple of statement cushions or a bright throw to refresh any bland or faded furniture. If you’ve got some open floor-space, why not add a cheap rug? In the bedroom, go for bed linen in bold prints.
Use plants to revive your room
Fresh or fake, foliage brings a pop of colour to any room. Dried flowers are really on trend at the moment and are a great way to liven any corner – plus they last for around a year! There’s also something really soothing about being surrounded by green – think plants trailing from shelves, free-standing larger pots or even a few small succulents on the windowsill.
Add atmosphere with some lighting
Low lighting will add warmth to any room – especially if it’s coming from a range of sources. A small desk lamp or uplighter can cast a glow from any corner – perfect for when you’re looking to snuggle down for the evening. If space is at a premium, drape some fairy lights around the walls.
Artistic Flair
Whether it's images of friends and family, prints of some of your favourite art or films, inject some of your personality into your room with some pictures. All you'll need are some lightweight frames and some Command Strips (make sure they're not too heavy so you don't damage the walls) and voila - you're immediately surrounded by pictures of your favourite people and things! Add a little more depth with a couple of photo frames - perfect for windowsills or book shelves.
For inspiration on where to buy these sorts of knick-knacks to spruce up your space, there are quite a few options in or near Clifton such as branches of Wilko, IKEA, Sainsburys and Dobbies garden centre. There are also loads of independent shops such as Vinegar Hill, Lloyds Flowers and Bristol Guild
