Graduation Bristol Style
You’ve done all the hard work – now it’s time to celebrate. But how to make your most of your Bristol graduation? We’ve put together a Bristol Uni Graduation Bucket List for guests returning to the city to celebrate their achievements.
Capturing Memories
Have you even graduated if there’s not a photo of you at the fountain? Every graduation season, the pavements in front of the Victoria Rooms at the top of the Clifton Triangle are teeming with posing graduates. It’s a Bristol Uni rite of passage.
Got the fountain photo in the bag? It’s not the only one for the album. Another favourite shot for UoB graduates is in front of the University signs in front of either the Hawthorns or the Wills Building. Novelty poses are optional.
Chasing Memories
University is commonly described as being the best days of your life – we’d definitely agree. Living with your best friends and spending your days focused on something you’re interested in? Take me back! But why limit it to ‘days’? Take the opportunity for one last night on the Triangle – just make sure it’s not the night before your ceremony!
And if you’re on the Triangle, obviously you have to have one last Donervan. Subject of many posts on novelty foodplace names, the Jason Donervan has even hosted the man himself. Cheesy chip anyone?
Celebrating your Success
While a night on the Triangle might be your ideal way to celebrate your achievements, Gran may not be as keen. So, time for a lavish graduation lunch – even better if it’s somewhere with freebies for the graduate. Restaurants and bars all over the city offer new graduates and their families the chance to celebrate the culmination of years of hard work. One of our favourites is Racks, where graduates get a free glass of Prosecco – why not dine on their spectacular new outdoor pergola?
