Best Winter Drinks in Bristol
Posted on 29th November 2023 by Nicola Heaney
One of the best things about Winter is cosying up with a warming drink. Even better if someone brings it to you. Best if it’s next to an open fire! Luckily for us, Bristol has some fantastic festive offerings when it comes to Winter drinks – here are some of our top recommendations for Winter drinks in Bristol. Treat yourself – it’s Christmas!
1. The Albion
Nestled away at the edge of Clifton Village, this 17th Century Coach House is perfect for a cosy winter drink. With an open fire and some seriously comfy leather sofas, The Albion is perfect for a mulled wine after a day shopping in Clifton’s independent boutiques.
Snuggle up next to the roaring fire in one of Bristol’s oldest drinking establishments. In the heart of St Nick’s market, The Rummer has a great selection of winter drinks – and some impressive mocktails too.
3. Racks
One of Clifton’s best terraces has been transformed for the Winter season. The Après-ski lodge is back at Racks – a fully covered pop-up venue kitted out like an alpine ski lodge and available for hire for Christmas parties. Of course, the venue instead is similarly snuggly if you’re just popping in for a couple with loads of little nooks and alcoves.
4. The Botanist
Renowned for its extensive cocktail menu, The Botanist has really pushed the boat out with its winter drinks menu, including a salted caramel espresso martini, a winter apple gin and tonic and of course, mulled wine.
5. The Apple
You may have heard of mulled wine, but have you heard of mulled cider? It wouldn’t be a West Country list of best winter drinking spots if there wasn’t a cider option – and where better than Bristol’s own cider bar on a boat?
And we’ve got an extra treat – Mrs Potts’ Chocolate House
Who said winter drinks had to be alcoholic? A luxurious hot chocolate can warm the bones just as well and this Park Street favourite has something for every taste and dietary need.
