Visiting Bristol can be expensive, with travel and accommodation and food costs all adding up, it is useful to know that there are also lots of free things to do in the city, so you can have fun on a budget! Clifton Suspension Bridge & Leigh Woods
Undeniably one of the city’s best views, the suspension bridge is free for pedestrians to walk across, as is the visitor centre the other side. A quick walk across Brunel’s bridge will take you to Leigh Woods, a beautiful woodland owned by the National Trust. The area, which is a National Nature Reserve, is free to walk around, and definitely worth a visit!
Street Art Tours
Although there are a number of great paid tours, you can also download apps or maps online, like this one, that can act as a self-guided tour! Bristol is famed for being the home of Banksy and many other iconic street artists. This means that many of the buildings are adorned with stunning murals. Even if art isn’t really your thing, this is a big part of Bristol history and culture.

Brandon Hill & Cabot Tower
Brandon Hill offers beautiful views of the city, as well as picturesque gardens and plenty of places to sit and picnic. In the centre of the park is Cabot Tower, which is free to climb! Although steep, the views at the top are definitely worth it. Bonus points if you go at sunset, it is one of the best free views in the city!
