Reasons to Study in Bristol

With Fresher’s week well and truly upon us we couldn’t think of anything better than to give you the run-down of great reasons to study in Bristol. Not only to jog the memories of those of you who have just pitched up. Also to offer some direction to those of you finishing the last of your school years frantically trying to find the best city to spend the next 3 years of your life.

Music

If music is your jam then Bristol is a match made in heaven. With larger venues ranging from Colston Hall to The O2 Academy and smaller, unique places such as Thekla and The Fleece there will be something whatever your mood. Perhaps try these out once you have settled in a bit. In terms of making the most out of Fresher’s we hear in the office that Pryzm is the place to be…good luck!

Green Space

Bristol really offers the best of both worlds. Now if you’ve only just escaped that tiny, secluded village where you grew up, we imagine heading back out into the countryside fills you with dread…why give up the reliable phone signal and 4G that you’ve so easily adjusted to?! Trust us, the city is amazing (we go on about it enough for you to know that!) However, having the option to take a picnic to Ashton Court or explore Cheddar Gorge only a stones throw away really will make all the difference when the rat race of city life gets a little too much!

Independents

If that wasn’t enough to convince you already we're sure you’ll be on side after you've heard about our favourite pick. Bristol loves an independent business, whether it’s a coffee shop, music shop, gift shop or clothes shop, you name it Bristol will have it. Stay ahead of your friends with the latest brands and trends and support local! You wouldn’t want that student loan burning a hole in your pocket now would you?! Our must to check out is Rise on Clifton triangle.

Student Offers

We really have saved the best for last. If, like most you get carried away in the first few weeks of your new University life and end up spending a little more than you probably should we have just the answer. Hearing the words student offer or discount will be music to your ears and we're pleased to tell you that Bristol is full of them! Our favourites include 20% off Seanhanna so you can keep you locks looking fresh and 15% off at our very own Caffe Clifton to get you through that midweek slump! If that’s not enough find a whole list of the discounts on offer in shops across the city here.
