October in Bristol

Autumn has very much arrived and with it October. We hate to say it but before you know it the Christmas frenzy will have taken hold and there won’t be much time to explore the great things going on in the city. So make the most of the month and the calm before the storm as October is a good one.

Something Good Design Festival at St George’s      6^th Oct

Kick the month off with the Something Good Design Festival and get those creative juices flowing. The two day festival, which will take place at St George’s on the 6^th and 7^th will be made up of talks from various creatives sharing stories about their work and their own inspirations. There will also be a chance to get involved on the Saturday so head down and you may even discover a hidden talent!

Bristol Festival of Literature: Tales from the Graveyard at Arnos Vale Cemetery     19^th Oct

Why not get in the mood for Halloween a little early this year and pay a visit to Arnos Vale Cemetery on the 19^th. As part of Bristol Festival of Literature, North Bristol Writers will be telling ‘Tales from the Graveyard’, stories which will be most fitting for the setting. If horror is your thing then this will be perfect. With food and drink available from Kates Kitchen you will be able to make an evening of it. Get your tickets here.

Festive Lino Printing at CoExist     25^th Oct

We know we said that we would hold off on anything festive until November but this one has just slipped in at the end of the month. Although it says ‘Festive Lino Printing’ by no means do you have to get all your Christmas cards prepared early. Have a play with many a different card and paper and a selection of coloured inks and see what you can create. Tickets are on sale now so book quickly as we imagine they will sell fast!
