October in Bristol
October I hear you say, yes we can’t believe it either! It won’t be long before you’re running around in a desperate panic trying to buy Christmas gifts for your loved ones and getting roped into many a family engagement. Now is the time to make the most of the free evenings and weekends you have and as ever we are here to help. Here are our best picks for the month.
Kick off this month with something new and head down to the The Mall at Cribbs Causeway to catch Beauty Unseen. This charity was set up to highlight the issues surrounding social exclusion and its effects on individuals. The very first live show will be held on the 1st of the month and will focus on ‘Role Models’ from the South-West who will share their stories on how they have over come life changing personal circumstances. This one is set to inspire so be sure not to miss it!
Wildscreen Festival is next on our list and promises the very best of what the wildlife world has to offer. Four days of film screenings, street art and an open air photography exhibition, so lots to keep you busy. Failing that you could always pop down for the same reason we are…to hear those soothing tones of the King of wildlife himself, Sir David Attenborough.
We hope after that relatively relaxing start to the month you’ll be ready for our next pick! Bristol Cocktail Week is back and this year is set to bigger and better than ever. With the cities bars mapped out in a theme-park styled adventure it's set to be a thrilling week. 11 different events across various cocktail themed zones, there will be something whatever your tipple takes your fancy. We’ll see you there!
We hope you have some energy left at the end of the month as you will not want to miss Simple Things Festival. A multi-venue music event set in our festival-loving city. Be ready to party into the early hours and end the month with a bang. Our highlights include Kano and John Carpenter.
