November in Bristol
The Christmas frenzy seems to be creeping us on this year quite quickly. There are already glimpses of mince pies and advent calendars in the aisles and it’s only going to get worse, or better depending on your take on the big day! And we haven’t even had Halloween yet! Don’t let the holidays take over just yet though as there are still plenty of things to keep you busy before the festive season really commences. Here's our pick for the month ahead.
Charity Fireworks at Canford Park 4th Nov
To start the month off head to Canford Park for a fantastic charity firework display on the 4th. Tickets are £5 and £1 from every ticket sale will go to St Peter’s Hospice. Celebrate Bonfire night a day early and enjoy the show. The fireworks start at 7pm and food and drink will be available. We will be keeping our eye out for toffee apples!
Planet Earth II – The Making of a Natural History Blockbuster at St George's Bristol 6th Nov
With the much awaited launch of Planet Earth II we thought it only fitting to include this. Catch the Making of a Natural History Blockbuster at St George’s Bristol on the 6th of the month. Mike Gunton, the Creative Director of the BBC’s Natural History Unit and executive producer of the new series, will reveal the difficulties involved and innovative process needed in creating such a renowned series. This is a must if you love Planet Earth as we are sure there will be some great behind the scenes action.
University of the West of the England: Undergraduate Open Days 18th Nov
Next up, this one is for all of you that tend to be a little less organsied and are planning on heading to our amazing city to embark on higher education. The 18th is the last UWE Undergraduate open day of the year so get it in your diaries. It’s a great opportunity to get all the inside knowledge from the students themselves on what to expect from studying in Bristol.
St Nick's Christmas Market 19th Nov
Last but very much not least, St Nick’s Christmas Market. Shop for gifts to your hearts content at the indoor market, open every day from the 19th of the month, and get your shopping finished early to avoid that dreaded Christmas panic.
