Summer is finally here....or is it? After such beautiful weather for this time of year it's easy to feel glum when the true British wind and rain returns. But all hope is not lost! Bristol is aswash with interesting activities and brilliant people with amazing skills, so why not get involved and learn a new skill whilst the skies are grey. We've searched high and low and found some of the best learning experiences you can get stuck into this June.
Vegetarian Cookery @ Little Kitchen Cookery School (on Wed 14th)
Vegetarian food has kicked off BIG time this year with more people tuning into a greener way of life and ditching the meat. However, meal inspiration can be few and far between especially if you are not used to broccoli being the main event at dinner time but, there is an answer! The Little Kitchen Cookery School provide a delicious day course on how to make spectacular vegetarian dishes and they even boast "there's no Quorn in sight!"
Black and White Photography Summer School @ St Pauls Darkroom (starts Wed 14th)
Join the Real Photography company for a 6 week dip into the beautiful world of black and white film. Based at the purpose built and incredibly well-equipted space in St Paul's learning centre, you will be taught to process and develop your own films. This is a seriously magical process and anyone interested should grab this opportunity with both hands!
Appreciate Nature with Pen and Paper @ University of Bristol Botanical Garden (starts 17/06)
Get back to nature with this drawing course based on the flora and fauna at the Univeristy of Bristol's Botanic Garden. This evening course is designed to create a calm, focussed environment, allowing you to soak up the gardens and beautiful forms that exist within it. The course is open to all abilities and provides technical guidence to help you achieve your artistic visions.
Introduction to Aromatherapy @ Bristol Folk House (on Sat 24th)
So often we find ourselves wrapped up in a hectic way of life. Constantly juggling appointments, work loads and desperately clinging onto your social life it can seem like it's all a bit too much. Well this one day course could be just the ticket to get some breathing space! Tutor, Georgia Daniel gives a carefully constructed introduction into aromatherapy and it's history, benefits and uses. This course is bound to relax you just in time for Summer.
