Great Outdoor Pursuits!

The sun has finally come out to play! It is time to dust off the summer wardrobe and explore the great outdoors. Being the greenest city in England with so many green spaces, there is no real shortage of spots to picnic, though we wanted to suggest those places that you might not have necessarily have though off straight away!

Leigh Woods

With a stunning view of the gorgeous Gorge, the historic Suspension Bridge at your feet you have arrived at Bristol’s largest woodland area. From the possibility of spring walks to bug hunts, to bat detecting ventures there is a variety of activities for you to take on! Or if you rather hang your flip flops up, sit and have a picnic in the sun, what could be a better way to spend a weekend?

Beese’s Gardens

It has been open for 2 weeks now and it already feels like time if fleeting! The famous riverside freehouse is already basking in the glorious summer rays, bringing in people by boat, car and instinct. With is beautiful tranquil gardens by the river Avon, it surely is one of the best spots in Bristol.

Blaise Castle

Jane Austen described it as the ‘finest place in England’, it is beautiful grade listed building to visit, overlooking to Avonmouth, has beautiful gardens and ambience to offer. For all you history buffs, there is a little extra inside the castle itself with antiques, paintings and the like!

Cycle the City

Although pretty self explanatory in the title, cycle the city offer something slightly special. Beautiful vintage bikes, equipped with bells, basket, helmet and lock, with weather like this you can see the city like you have never seen it before, just be careful coming down Park Street!

Bailey Balloons

The city that fames its self on the Balloon Fiesta every summer, this is your chance to have the ultimate bird eye view of beautiful Bristol! Flying over Ashton Court towards the SS Great Britain and through scenic Bath, you have the option of doing all this with a glass of champagne in your hand!

As you can see there is plenty of choice and if you need to have a drink to relax and think about your next move, do it in the best secret beer gardens in Bristol! The green glorious garden of the Rodney Hotel, the sunny terrace of the Berkeley Square or the breezy patio of Racks.
