February in Bristol
It's February! The shortest month of the year is upon us and, in true Bristol fashion, there is a ton of great things to see and do this month. It's time to come out of hibernation and wrap up warm to explore the niche, curious and cultural events on offer this February.
Darwin Day: Did God Evolve? (Part of Bristol Festival of Ideas)
7th Feb @ Wills Memorial Building 19:00
Do you have the urge to feed your questioning mind? Feed it a feast with Steve Jones (in association with Bristol Humanists) as he discusses Darwin this February. Look into the correlation between levels and structures in belief systems compared with the structure of societies. Jones discusses the evolving of religious structures and the view that religion and science exist as separate entities; is this correct? In order to attend the lecture, in a building which builds some of the South West’s greatest minds, you need to book in advance; however, tickets are actually free!
IBT Festival (In Between Time)
8th-12 Feb @ multiple Bristol locations
It's that time of year again when we welcome one of Bristol's most exceptional festivals to inspire and challenge our perceptions of the world around us. IBT invites the audience to journey through the confusing changes that are occuring internationally and challenges them to take part in standing up for collective beliefs. This year compises of a powerful programme to what has (in previous years) proven to be consistently diverse and strong. Remember to book tickets for this!
9th Feb @ Loco Club
With a 100% 5* rating, Bristol Underground Comedy is another hidden gem from the brilliant minds of the Invisible Circus team. Showcasing a carefully curated line up of "the funniest comidiens you've never heard of", guests can expect to be pleasantly surprised by the unknown in the unique and intriguing Loco Club lair. This is a firm favourite in the Clifton Short Lets office

DIY Storytelling with Rob Hornstra (hosted by IC Visual Lab)
10th Feb @ The Chocolate Factory
Award-winning photographer, Rob Hornstra gives a compact introduction into The Sochi Project: An Atlas of War and Tourism in the Caucasus. The five year long project looks at the region of Sochi in Russia and how it transitions to prepare for the Winter Olympic Games that took place in 2014. The landscape, and arguably the attitude there, is full of contradictions which Hornstra conveys in his work. His long-term documentary work is recognised all over the globe but yet he demonstrates the beauty and benefits of self publishing here, on our Bristol doorstep. In association with UWE this is an exclusive evening not to be missed- all for £8 (or student £6)!
Tunnel of Love (hosted by The Invisible Circus)
11th Feb @ Loco Club
Spice up Valentine's Day this year with something a little off the beaten track. The infamous Loco Club presents 'Tunnel Of Love' self described as a barmy evening. What could be more appropriate to celebrate all the crazy, beautiful and often strange intricacies of love? Hosted by international lip sync champions; Wayne and Wanda, guests can expect an unforgettable, humdinger of an evening!
Valentines Day (5 course taster menu)
14th Feb @ No.4 Clifton Village
We had to have one classic idea for this Valentine's Day. For £45 per person you can experience a 5 course ‘taster menu ‘(which you can add a wine flight to for £15 each)! It features a hand-picked selection of new world and classic wines to compliment the carefully selected Valentine’s Menu. Situated just a stone’s throw away from the idyllic Clifton suspension Bridge, No.4 is a boutique restaurant perfect for an intimate Valentine’s Day dinner.

Novel Writers: Emma Flint (Part of Bristol Festival of Ideas)
23rd Feb @ Spike Island
Emma Flint is this months guest writer, discussing her novel ‘Little Deaths’ in all it's intricacies. Do not fear though, prior knowledge of the text is not essential for these sessions! Which are an excellent way of discovering brilliant new stories and brilliant new novelists. Just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, experience a classic Bristol evening- one that feeds the public's need for creative arts but also gives writers such as Flint a platform to discuss their work.
