February in Bristol

Horray, the time when we can put miserable old January behind us is fast approaching. February is looking to be a good one with an array of things to do in and around the city. With Valentines Day just around the corner here are our picks of the top romantic things to do this month.

Star Party at Tyntesfield

stargazing1

Wrap up warm and join the Bristol Astronomical society for an evening of Star Gazing at Tyntesfield Estate, North Somerset. Entry is only £5, and with a thermos of warm cocoa, we think this would be a top choice for an inexpensive but romantic evening.

Booking is essential. Please register your interest by emailing starparty@nationaltrust.org.uk

 Temple Quay Street Food Market

gallery lunchtime

Pop along to Temple Quay Street Food Market and eat under the harbour lights for a fun lunch alternative to the Valentines Candlelit dinner. Temple Quay Market is a weekly street food market taking place every Thursday in The Square, Temple Quay in the heart of Bristol. 12pm - 2pm.

Jane Eyre at the Bristol Old Vic

Jane Eyre Poster notitle

This epic love story hits the Old Vic, in an exciting co-production with the National Theatre. Whether you are a die hard fan of the novel or are yet to attempt it, the production promises to bring Bronte’s much loved classic to life in a bold and dynamic way.

 The Playground Coffee House

The drear and the drizzle putting you out of the romantic mood? Cosy up for the afternoon with coffee, a board game and that special person. They have board games from all over the world, and our favourite part - you can sit on swings instead of chairs!

And something a bit different...

Why not try stand up paddleboarding for a date with a difference! Stand up Paddle Boarding offer taster sessions Monday and Thursdays at 6:30 pm, a great chance to get your feet wet and see the stunning Bristol Harbourside from a brand new persepctive.
