April in Bristol
Let’s kick the month off with Bristol Night Market. It’s back and it’s better than ever. Set around Bristol’s famous St Nicholas Market you can experience not only all the things you love about the daytime market but performers, music and a whole lot of food as well! There will also be local cider from Dick Willows on tap and remember it’s not a school night so you can treat yourself. The Night Market will take place every first Friday of the month and we honestly can’t think of a better way to spend it!
So we hope you haven’t eaten too many eggs to be sick of the sight of them as this one is slightly egg themed. Who doesn’t love Chicken Run?! Take an afternoon off and sit back and follow the story of Ginger and friends in their attempts to escape from the farm where they are kept. This one is a sound family favourite and perfect Easter holiday outing. There are a limited number of showings so book now to avoid disappointment.
Michael Beutler: Solo Exhibiton at Spike Island
You may or may not know, but we are big supporters of anything and everything creative. This exhibition has been pencilled in our diaries for a while now. This will be Beutler’s first exhibition in a British institution and we are over the moon that he picked our local Spike Island. It seems like the ideal location for his alternative forms of architecture and prototyping and has us very intrigued. The exhibition runs from the 16th April – 19th June so you have plenty of time to catch it.
For all of you that love the smug feeling of sailing though the traffic on your commute to work on your beloved road bike we have something a bit special for you. Bespoked Bike Festival is the place to head to if you can appreciate a well made bicycle. This exclusive event celebrates international makers and designers and their innovative creations and provides the perfect place for them to showcase their work. Want in? Get tickets now.
Returning for its third year in Bristol, Food Connections will be back supporting local producers and businesses. Hosting a number of events across the nine days including markets, guest speakers, cooking demos and even a food trail there is something for everyone. With the aim to bring together the community and inform and educate them on healthy local produce this one has our vote. Catch all the events from 29th April – 7th May.
